After reading this article I believe all coups considering marriage where children are involved should be given this list and have counseling and parenting classes before they are allowed to say I do.
Children are a big responsiblity to all parents but with the blended families there is a great challenge. I think that both sets of parents should be involved.
It is also my opinion that a foundation be there between the families, for me the foundation is God.

I absolutely agree with the foundation of God. It makes it so meaningful and less of a headache. Majority of the time, situations like this cause so much chaos, heart ache and confusion. Kids have a hard time as it and the drama from the other biological parent towards the stepparent can be none stop. But when you have God, you have peace and a understanding.

I could not agree with you more. I have witnessed first hand how this can work. the import ant thing to me is to focus on the positive and not the negative and build on that solid foundation. The children are often the forgotten ones during the divorces or a tool for the parents to hurt one another. But this things will help when blended family are there.

I also have to agree. There are licenses for everything, but having a child there is not. Everyone could learn something from being educated about children and families.

This article give great ideas about how to make a blended family work. It is very hard, trust me! I grew up in a blended family and now have one of my own. I find challenges everyday. Things I wish I could change but can't and things that I am doing right. I have found some great advice in this article that can actually help me with a problem that I am facing right now.

I wish I would have had this knowledge before I got married, I was raised up in a blended family and married into one. My mother made it look so easy. At the end i can honestly say the good finally out weighed the bad. Thank God!
