Fetal Alcohol Syndrome

I am volunteering with a group of unwed pregnant young women that have different issues one being alcohol addiction. I researched the subject and found this article among others about the problems facing the child. When women drive during pregnancy they are putting their child at risk. Drinking in access will put the child at risk of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. Alcohol is preventable cause of mental and physical birth in this country. Working as a probation counselor with substance abuser client whose substance of choice was alcohol I witness clients stop drinking during pregnancy and remaining clean and sober.
